Beer, a belly rub in liquid form, is helping raise funds this week for the doggos, puppers and kitters currently residing in North Carolina animal shelters.
Brew to the Rescue pits 15 North Carolina breweries against one another to raise money for the state’s animal shelters.
Each brewery, including four from the Triangle, will collect online donations and deliver them to a local shelter as a Valentine’s Day treat, sure to melt and/or fill all of our collective hearts.
The competition went live today, though most breweries already have received donations, and will continue until 5 p.m. Friday.
Brew to the Rescue, announced in December, is organized by the N.C. Craft Brewers Guild.
These local breweries are participating for these shelters:
Each brewery is trying to raise at least $500, but so far, everyone is chasing Boondocks Brewing in West Jefferson, which has already raised $1,300.
The winning brewery will get 300 pounds of pet food donated to their shelter partner from Unleashed pet store of Raleigh and Wilmington.
The NC Craft Brewers Guild is trying to raise money for Cause for Paws NC.
