Some fans decided to give Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Justin Faulk their own “hat trick” after he scored three goals on Tuesday night during the Canes’ 7-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

Fans attached hats to the windshield wipers of his SUV in the parking lot at PNC Center. A Hurricanes video shows Faulk removing the hats.

Faulk scored a “natural hat trick” by scoring three consecutive goals during the first and second periods on Tuesday night, giving the Hurricanes an early 4-0 lead.

Faulk’s scoring triggered the “fat trick” for Canes fans, giving them discounts and free food.
