Working Women of WWII
American Rosie the Riveter Association is trying to locate women who worked on the home front during WWII.
Thousands of women worked to support the war effort as riveters, welders, electricians, inspectors in plants, sewing clothing and parachutes for the military, ordnance workers, rolling bandages, clerical, farming, and many other jobs such as volunteer workers collecting scrap metals and other critical materials.
These women have stories of their WWII experiences that are of historical value and perhaps have never been told. Our association would like to acknowledge these women with a certificate and have their stories placed in our archives.
Never miss a local story.
American Rosie the Riveter Association is a patriotic/nonprofit organization whose purpose is to recognize and preserve the history and legacy of working women during WWII. This organization was founded in 1998 by Dr. Frances Carter, Birmingham, Alabama, and now has over 5,700 members nationwide.
An annual convention lets the members get together with old friends and make new friends. The next convention will be held in New Orleans in June 2018. When plans are finalized, details will be posted on our web site www.rosietheriveter.net and through the media.

A two-edged sword
The millenials running MoveOn.Org (MOO) aren’t old enough to know how MoveOn.Org originated. The recent documentary on Clinton’s sexual predation was a chilling reminder. In short, the billionaire founders on MOO wished to Move On from the impeachment procedures and sexual predation to the people’s business thereby minimizing the claims of sexual assault and rape brought against Clinton. As tawdry as Clinton’s escapades were, they paled in comparison to what The Week magazine described in 2012 as the Seamy Side of Camelot in which a 19-year-old intern described JFK as an amoral creep.
Recently, the DNC/MOO/Mass Media complex has embraced a puritanical No Tolerance stance for various sexual transgressions. Indeed, it is the hope of MOO the mere accusation of sexual misconduct will gain Democrats a majority in the U.S. Senate.
Intolerance is generally associated with persecution of those with different sexual orientation or gender preference. It is not clear what moral compass dictates intolerance; especially in matters of the libido. No one is immune to rumor or false witness. Adopting No Tolerance is a two-edged sword. While it encourages victims to speak out, it also emboldens political imposters.
In the final analysis, such a policy trivializes sexual predation. We have learned neither the lessons of the adulteress who was to be stoned to death nor the admonition of Vermont Royster, editor of the Wall Street Journal from 1958-1971 (and a graduate of UNC!):
Nothing is so corrupting to a man as to believe it is his duty to save mankind from men. He comes to evil because he must first usurp the rights of men and finally the prerogatives of God.
Protecting our safety
I wish to thank you for the recent article about the Republican Party respecting the requests of the NRA. As a member, I was pleased to read that, as I am sure other NRA members were. But you might want to also credit the efforts of the Gun Owners of America (GOA) and the National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR). We are all active in contacting our elected representatives to preserve our Second Amendments rights from the statists/socialists/neo-fascists and similar enemies of our rights.
The millions of members of these organizations and other gun owners also make us safer from criminals as well as an overly controlling or tyrannical government. Statistics show that crime and murder rates are much higher in states and cities where guns are tightly controlled or banned than in areas where gun laws and restrictions allow more freedom of possession and carry.
A recent article in “America’s First Freedom” (December, 2017) analyzed the effects of Australia’s excessively restrictive gun laws. Still, the criminal use of guns continues and criminals have little trouble obtaining them. The laws disarm the law-abiding citizens and leaves them helpless in the presence of the criminals who do not obey the laws.
So let us thank the Republican Party for being responsive to the requests of the NRA, the GOA, and the NAGRE and the millions of other gun owners and the Republican Party’s responsibility for protecting the Second Amendment and our safety.
