Durham police were called to investigate a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred near the intersection of Main and Ninth streets Thursday night.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. in the 2000 block of West Main Street near the railroad tracks in that area, according to Durham police. It is not far from Duke University's campus.

Two suspects, who were described as white males wearing black hoodies and black pants, fled the scene on foot, said Durham police spokesman Wil Glenn.
